Toby Tremlett

Toby started his film career as a runner on the television series “Vietnam”, a Kennedy Marshall production (starring Nicole Kidman) whilst travelling in Australia in 1985.

After working as a grip in Hollywood for the likes of David Fincher and Dominic Sena on music videos for Madonna, Janet Jackson, Jackson Browne and many others, and a few Horror movies, he took up a place at Film School back in the UK in 1990.

He achieved a Diploma with Distinction at Bournemouth School of Film & Television in 1992, along with multiple awards for his short film “The Shamans Song”. After graduation Toby worked as Film Editor on the movie “The Cement Garden”, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and directed by Andrew Birkin. The film went on to win awards at The Berlin Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, Dinard, and Deauville amongst others.

Toby started directing music videos in 1996 for the likes of Sneaker Pimps, Moloko and Cast amongst many others, winning nominations for VH1 and MTV for his Sneaker Pimps “6 Underground” video. In 1997 Toby began also directing Commercials and has a long list of international credits to his name after shooting over a hundred spots for, amongst others: Canon, Cadillac, Toyota, Snickers, Renault, Lipton’s, Garnier, L’Oreal, Goodyear, Nescafe, Mazda, Pepsi, Pontiac, UniCredit Bank, Tele2 and T-Mobile. His commercials have won awards in several countries, and he remains a much sought after commercials director worldwide.
